Pet Peeve #127

I hate people who use bad cliché’s as advice. For instance, “live like your dying” or, my personal favorite “she can’t miss you if you’re always there.” If you’re one of those people who employ these cheap tactics as a replacement for thinking for your own, I hope you die of an aneurysm. It would be a fitting and ironic end-having your brain explode during the mere presence of original thought. Honestly, if life were that easy, everything could be solved by 30 second commercials and a catchy tag line. Some people are motivated to use bad clichés because they would like to appear profound and intelligent. Stop, because you sound like an uneducated jackass. When you lack the ability to craft a profound message, you should just settle for communicating effectively.

IPOD!

To celebrate my new job i've decided to purchase an ipod. I think its been a long time coming. I'd like to think of myself as an early adopter of new technology but, in the ipod's case, i've been quite a laggard. This ipod will be my reward for my unexpectedly long search for a job. Incidently, I just received another request for an interview this morning from Crown Investment Corporation. That would have been my fourth interview this week if I hadn't turned it down. It felt pretty good turning down an interview because i already found employement. It gave me a sense of empowerment.

Real Employment!!

Its official folks, i finally found a "real" job! I had two interviews set up at SaskTel this week. The first one was for a Administrative Manager position at SaskTel's Customer Care Centre. I remember telling my dad about this interview... the first thing he said was "are you even qualified for this job? I replied "i'll lie if i have too..." Luckily i didn't have too (...more or less). The interview went great. In fact, they offered my the job two hours later. Now, in Pat's words, i have a job "...with sufficient monetary output that would facilitate outmoving" No more being a bum for terrence, too bad, it was nice while it lasted.
